Many of our students have raised the bar and gone on to performing with major companies in Chicago and Kansas City, MO. We are very proud of the achievements that our students have attained. A testimony that the hard work pays off.
Kafolike Chicago is the 1st school created by Sekou Conde. This school has been in existence since 2013.
As a student of the school you not only learn various rhythms, history of the culture, the people, but the region of the rhythm in which we study in additional to solo phrases, build stamina, and more.
The Ka Folike Instructional Book and audio CD is a dictionary and notated form of rhythms created by the Malinke people of West Africa for traditional use, created by myself as well as crucial information need for Djembe and Dundun players.
I took on this endeavor for the purpose of bringing some clarity to the beautiful art form of Djembe and Dundun drumming. This project helps to raise the bar for the learning process of the musical culture of the Djembe Orchestra.
With extreme cuts to arts programs, thousands of children are left without access to traditional folkloric musical education. We rely upon the generous hearts of individuals and foundations who understand that music changes lives. Empowering children, families and communities will create an atmosphere of peace, unity and world harmony. We ask for your help to create opportunities to make the world a better place for us all to live in by making a donation to our school.
